- Attach one elastic panel (you can use the thumb loop attachment) located on the posterior (back) section of the brace to one side on the anterior (front) section on the vertical piece of velcro. Pull the other elastic panel around the body in the same manner and attach to the other vertical piece of velcro. The brace is now ready to be positioned properly.
- Posterior: First properly center the brace in the middle of the back so the bottom of the posterior section lies on the top of the buttocks. Your posterior is now correct.
- Anterior: First, properly center the brace on the front of the body. Second, make sure the midpoint of the height of the braces rests on the pelvic girdle (this is the fleshy piece above the hip). Your brace is now correctly fit.
- Closure: If your brace is being donned laying down (as all back braces should be) pull the 1" wide straps snugly placing the two sided velcro straps on the anterior piece first, then place the other strap on top of that one. When you stand, gravity will take care of the Hydrostatic Lift. If you are donning the brace in a standing position, you must pull the straps more tightly in the following manner: pull equally on both straps up and out (at a 45 degree angle) to achieve the Hydrostatic Lift (you will feel it immediately). Then close the straps in the same manner with the two sided velcro strap first.
